ESG has become an essential factor in decision-making processes across all markets globally. With commercial real estate accounting for 40% of carbon emissions, making it a critical contributor to the global carbon footprint, property professionals are required to act now.
There are a range of key drivers for change including green lending, occupier demand and legislation - most notably a requirement for commercial space to have an EPC rating of B or below by 2030. EPCs grade the energy efficiency of buildings and can provide valuable insight into a building's sustainability score, which emphasises the need to prioritise sustainability.
To enable our customers to tackle this problem, we have introduced:
EPCs & DECs (a new section in a Property Report):
- EPC (energy performance certificate) domestic + recommendations
- EPC non-domestic + recommendations
- DEC (display energy certificate) + recommendations
This will enable users to understand and compare the sustainability score of a building, help promote energy efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations, which can affect the marketability and valuation of a property.
